Commissioner Michael Price: In Service to His Community

District IV Commissioner Michael Price began his tenure in March 2024, when he was appointed to fill a mid-term vacancy. His commitment to the role was quickly affirmed by the community; following the special election on November 5, 2024, and a subsequent runoff in December, he was officially elected to continue his service for District IV.

A Lifelong Henry County Connection

A sixth-generation native of Henry County, Commissioner Price was born and raised in McDonough and Locust Grove. A 1988 graduate of Henry County Senior High School, his ties to this community span generations.

For over 20 years, he has served as the Senior Pastor of the Historic Shoal Creek Baptist Church. Established in 1866, it is the oldest African American Baptist church in the county. Commissioner Price holds the distinction of being its longest-serving pastor and is deeply honored to lead the same congregation once pastored by Martin Luther King Sr. (1930–1932).

Expertise in Infrastructure & Growth

Commissioner Price brings a unique, practical perspective to the Board. His background includes:

• 12 years with the Henry County Department of Transportation, providing him with a "boots-on-the-ground" understanding of local infrastructure.

• Entrepreneurship & Construction: As a self-taught owner of a remodeling company, he understands the nuances of quality development and the needs of small business owners.

Family & Home

Michael and his wife, Sheila, are proud residents of Stockbridge. They are the parents of four adult children and the doting grandparents of a grandson and a granddaughter.
